Ever heard of Repetitive Stress Injury? What about Carpal Tunnel Syndrome? More than 8 million people globally are affected by Carpal Tunnel each year. Carpal Tunnel surgery is the second most common type of musculoskeletal surgery, with more than 230,000 surgeries yearly. pic.twitter.com/1MOiBGxyAB

Carpal Tunnel is primarily caused by pressure or repeated strain on the median nerve, which makes anyone who frequently uses a computer at risk. For those unfamiliar, carpal tunnel causes pain, numbness, and tingling in the hands and wrists due to major nerves being compressed. pic.twitter.com/DIF1JGIwTi
— Abilitare (@Abilitare) March 3, 2022
Although Carpal Tunnel is the most prevalent of Repetitive Stress Injuries (RSI), there are multiple other types of RSI that have little awareness. They affect the body in a similar way to Carpal Tunnel, but most cause slightly different damages and pain points.

September is National Spinal Cord Injury Awareness month!
— Abilitare (@Abilitare) September 20, 2021
We are more than halfway through the month and here's a bit of history...The SCI Awareness month was first started by a bill co-sponsored by Marco Rubio and Bill Nelson to help raise awareness across the country. pic.twitter.com/VAqvKVzn2W
Since the bill was passed, the movement has only grown in popularity. Every 48 minutes, a person becomes paralyzed making the need for awareness crucial. Here's an interesting article by the Miami Project!https://t.co/yT24AshrpI
